BY ANNA GABRIELLE
December 2, 2023
Sri Lanka is not on everybody wishlist as Maldives or Seychelles could be. However, this country is full of surprises from the luxurious wilderness, astonishing landscapes, spiritual & wellness sides but also amazingly curated boutique hotels all over the island. Here's a list on where you should definitely put down your luggages and wind down.
01
AMANWELLA
GEM IN THE NICEST AND PRIVATE SEASIDE
We embarked on a picturesque drive to Amanwella, a discreet coastal gem in Tangalle known for its untouched beauty. Upon arrival, we were greeted with minimalist luxury and impeccable service, entered in our spacious suite with a private plunge pool and ocean views.

Lunch time. Culinary delights awaits us, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients at the beach restaurant, located on this beautiful sandy set up. Amanwella's secluded crescent-shaped private beach offered hours of sun-soaked relaxation.

Enough relaxing, we were kindly suggested to try their complimentary activities such as guided nature walks, yoga sessions at sunrise, and rejuvenating spa experiences.

Dinner was obviously a magical experience, at the open-air restaurant, with its ocean view, and live local music created a perfect atmosphere.
Amanwella exceeded our expectations as a sanctuary for the senses, blending pristine surroundings, top-notch service, and sumptuous cuisine. We'd gladly return and almost never wanted to leave.

AMANGALLA
DISCREET PERFECTLY CURATED UNESCO HERITAGE
We ventured into the heart of Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to explore Amangalla, a 17th-century colonial mansion. This enchanting retreat immersed us in Sri Lanka's rich history, with cobblestone streets and Dutch colonial architecture.

Amangalla's 30 elegantly appointed suites transported us to a bygone era, preserving the building's heritage with antique furnishings and ocean views from verandas.

The attentive and gracious staff, reminiscent of a time-honored tradition, ensured our stay was exceptional.
Culinary delights blended Sri Lankan and international flavors in an elegant dining room, while activities included guided tours, artisan workshops, and tranquil spa experiences.

Amangalla's intimate gardens and pool, nestled within the fort's walls, provided a serene oasis.
Our visit to Amangalle was an immersive journey through colonial Sri Lanka, offering history, impeccable service, and culinary delights. It's a destination we wholeheartedly recommend for a culturally-rich escape.
